Did you know that the Malagasy language is now being taught all the way in South Korea?
Thanks to a meaningful collaboration between YMCA Madagascar and Yonsei University YMCA in Korea, a special online session took place on Friday, July 18, at the Youth Power Space in Ankerana.
This session was more than just a language class. It was part of a growing cultural exchange between our two YMCAs. In previous sessions, Yonsei YMCA members had introduced our youth to Korean language and culture. This time, it was our young members’ turn to share.
The session was a powerful reminder that language can bring people together. It helps create understanding and build lasting friendships across borders.
Through initiatives like this, YMCA Madagascar continues to promote youth leadership, mutual learning, and global connection. These values are at the core of the YMCA movement. We are proud of our young members for stepping up and sharing their culture with confidence and enthusiasm.
This exchange is a clear example of how young people can be strong agents of unity. Language and culture can be powerful tools for peace and cooperation.
