The Youth Power Space (YPS) is a space led by youth and for youth. A place where young people take the lead in shaping their future. It’s more than just a platform: it’s a vibrant hub where youth can grow, lead, and inspire. YMCA in One Word

YMCA means something different to each of us. Here’s how our members describe it in just ONE WORD.

Voices From Our Leaders

For a long time, I stayed in my comfort zone—avoiding risks, challenges, and even opportunities—just to feel safe. But everything changed when I stepped into a role that required me to speak, lead, and connect with others. (Communication Responsible then leader of Y-English Club) It wasn’t easy. I had to face fear, take responsibility, and give up some of my comfort. But through that, I discovered new skills, built confidence, and grew into someone I never imagined becoming. Today, I lead, I manage, and I keep learning. And I’ve realized this: Your growth begins the moment you choose courage over comfort.

Elsa RAZAFINDRATSIMBA Leader of Y-English Club Ankerana

When I joined YMCA, I first joined just for fun, until I realized it was actually a place full of opportunities and a place where I could learn so many things I might need later in life. Before becoming the leader of Y-Third Arts Club, I was a member of three other clubs. Through them, I never refused to learn new things. I also met many people from whom I gained knowledge in science, multimedia, and even psychology. I only gave up on a few things because… hmm, let’s just say they weren’t really for me xD. But most of what I learned, I’ve used in my business and personal life.
