Creating Safe and Clean Spaces for Children: Initiatives by Y-Lalana Club

Creating a clean and safe space for children to learn is more than just a responsibility. It is a commitment to the future. With this in mind, YMCA Moramanga, through its Y-Lalana Club, carried out a social action dedicated to eco-friendly initiatives at the EPP (École Primaire Publique) of Moramanga.

United by a common purpose, the club members cleaned the school grounds, which had been heavily littered with waste. Their work went beyond removing trash. It reflected a desire to foster responsibility and active citizenship while promoting a healthier, more welcoming learning environment.

This initiative was also a call to action for the school community. By engaging directly with the space, members encouraged both students and teachers to recognize the importance of cleanliness and environmental care. Their message was clear: everyone has a role to play in maintaining a sustainable and pleasant environment.

At the end of the activity, a short evaluation was carried out. It revealed:

  • Positive results from the cleanup effort.

  • Recognition of areas to improve for future projects.

  • Strong teamwork and responsibility demonstrated by Y-Lalana members.

  • Encouragement from participants to continue such initiatives.

One of the most significant outcomes was the support of the director of EPP Moramanga, who expressed a wish to continue working with YMCA Moramanga. This collaboration not only opens the door to future impactful actions but also reinforces a shared commitment to building a better future together.
