FANDRESENA Network: Early Medical Care, a Foundation for Children’s Futures and Young Mothers’ Empowerment
Taking action early means preventing health risks, protecting children, and giving every child a real chance to grow up healthy. This principle of preventive healthcare reminds us that delayed medical care can limit opportunities for early detection and effective treatment.
Through the FANDRESENA network, 21 children of young single mothers supported by YMCA Madagascar received medical consultations to monitor their health and development.
For these young mothers, who often face social and economic challenges, accessing regular healthcare for their children can be difficult. Through this initiative, YMCA Madagascar goes beyond providing one-time support by offering families guidance, care, and encouragement to better support their children’s well-being.
This experience enabled young mothers to:
- Better understand their children’s growth and health indicators.
- Gain confidence in their role as caregivers and protectors.
- Strengthen their ability to create a healthier and more stable environment for their children.
This medical consultation day strengthened mothers’ ability to ensure better preventive monitoring of their children’s health. It contributed to the early identification of potential health concerns and connected families with care tailored to each child’s specific needs.
