YMCA Antsirabe Open Day 2025: A Day Full of Discovery and Creativity

Every year, YMCA branches across Madagascar hold an Open Day, a moment not only to welcome new members but also to give visibility to the clubs and the work being done inside the movement.

During September, YMCA Antsirabe organized its Open Day at the Vatofotsy Gymnasium, bringing together 88 young  people. The event gave the public a chance to discover the clubs’ activities and the different opportunities YMCA offers to young people.

Throughout the day, six clubs took the stage through a variety of activities: contests rewarding the best performers, quizzes and fun games, theater and dance shows, coaching sessions, and even small sales stands. These activities highlighted both the creativity of the members and the diversity of YMCA’s programs.

More than a festive gathering, the Open Day raised awareness in the local community about what the YMCA stands for. It allowed new young people to discover the movement, encouraged others to join, and highlighted YMCA’s spirit of collaboration and inclusion. One of the local partners, the Université de Vakinankaratra, also took part by sharing information about their own field of activity.

The impact was tangible: strong participation, high energy, and closer ties between YMCA, its members, and the community.

In short, the 2025 Open Day confirmed that YMCA Antsirabe, like other branches, is not just a meeting place. It is a safe, inclusive, and supportive space where young people learn, grow, and gain confidence together.
