RISE Project: Empowering Malagasy Youth through Resilience, Inclusion, Skills, and Empowerment

April 2025 marks a major milestone for YMCA Madagascar with the launch of the RISE Project (Resilience – Inclusion – Skills – Empowerment). This ambitious initiative, proudly supported by the Linsi Foundation, aims to sustainably improve the living conditions sustainably improve the living conditions of 8,200 vulnerable young people in Antsirabe, Vakinankaratra, Madagascar. It focuses on three key pillars: economic resilience, access to healthcare, and civic participation.

Moreover, the RISE project was born from a participatory needs assessment and a rigorous co-construction process. It is based on concrete, realistic, and locally adapted solutions. Implementation is planned over a 12-month period.

Preparing the Groundwork for the RISE Project

To better target the project’s beneficiaries, update information on key sectors of economic opportunity, and define technical and strategic preparations, a virtual meeting was held on April 17, 2025.
During this session, the project team collaborated actively to lay the groundwork for the next phases.

This meeting represents a crucial step toward the operational launch of RISE. It follows the recruitment of new team members in Antsirabe, aimed at strengthening local implementation.

How RISE Aligns with YMCA Madagascar’s Mission

Fully aligned with YMCA Madagascar’s strategic vision and the Linsi Foundation’s priorities, the RISE project has three main objectives :

  • Strengthen the socio-economic resilience of young people by improving their access to stable and sustainable livelihoods.

  • Enhance access to affordable and adapted healthcare for young entrepreneurs.

  • Promote civic engagement, encouraging youth to take active roles within their communities.

With the RISE project, YMCA Madagascar reaffirms its strong commitment to empowering Malagasy youth toward sustainable independence and meaningful civic engagement.
