Youth Leading Health and Well-being: The Launch of the Y-Health Club

Responding to the growing health challenges faced by young people, the Y-HEALTH CLUB has been launched, a new initiative created by our youth members and a dynamic space where young people can come together to promote health, well-being, and resilience within their communities. Driven by our long-standing commitment to empowering youth, the club was born from a desire to create concrete solutions to today’s major health issues.

From Training to Transformation

Officially established on April 1, 2025, following YMCA’s impregnation, leadership and skills training, the Y-Health Club brings together motivated young leaders ready to take action. Their mission is clear: to support youth through awareness and education in key areas such as transmissible diseases, mental health, sexual and reproductive health, and maternal and child health

First Session and Member Recruitment

The club quickly moved into action. On April 12, 2025, the Y-Health club organized its first official session focused on recruiting new members and beginning to deliver practical health education. A highlight of the day was the First Aid Training session led by the club’s board members, where participants learned vital skills such as managing cases of suffocation, practicing the recovery position (PLS), and performing initial health assessments.

Strengthened by its early achievements, the Y-Health Club has already attracted new support, notably welcoming Dr. Lydien, a traumatologist who has joined as a volunteer to enhance the club’s First Aid training initiatives, particularly in trauma management. Through the Y-Health Club, YMCA Madagascar reaffirms its vision of building a healthier, more resilient generation for the future.
