About the RISE Project
The RISE project is a transformative initiative by YMCA Madagascar in partnership with the Linsi Foundation, designed to empower vulnerable young people in Antsirabe, Vakinankaratra, Madagascar. Rooted in the organization’s 5-year strategic vision, RISE aims to tackle the most pressing issues facing Malagasy youth: limited access to education and decent employment, unstable livelihoods, insufficient healthcare, and weak civic engagement. By adopting a holistic and human-centered approach, the project empowers young people to build socio-economic resilience, gain essential skills, and play a meaningful role in their communities.
The Project’s Three Pillars
Strengthening socio-economic resilience by providing vocational training tailored to the local economic context, facilitating job placements through collaborations, and supporting youth entrepreneurship through mentorship, seed funding, and business training.
Improving access to affordable healthcare by introducing subsidized health insurance for youth entrepreneurs and establishing youth-friendly health corners that offer essential services, including mental health support and sexual and reproductive health counseling.
Promoting civic engagement and social participation by delivering civic education programs , training young people in advocacy and leadership skills, and supporting youth-led initiatives to encourage active involvement in public affairs and decision-making processes.
