Led by our Young Green Ambassadors, the workshop introduced students to a practical approach to plastic waste management. Using discarded plastic bottles, participants learned how to create storage containers for their school supplies, transforming materials commonly considered waste into useful everyday objects.
More than a creative activity, the workshop offered an opportunity to rethink the value of waste. By making something useful with their own hands, students explored an important principle of the circular economy: materials do not always have to be thrown away after their first use.
This hands-on approach is central to the Green School program. Rather than limiting environmental education to classroom discussions, the initiative encourages young people to put what they learn into practice. Through practical experimentation, students develop skills that can help them make more environmentally responsible choices.
The real opportunity lies in what happens beyond the classroom. With skills they can apply at home, these young learners have the potential to inspire their families and peers to reconsider how they manage everyday waste. Repeating these practices over time could help turn a single learning experience into more sustainable habits. Because lasting environmental change does not begin with awareness alone. It begins when knowledge becomes action—and action becomes a habit.
