YMCA Madagascar Partners with Omena Movement to Promote Mental Health

Emotional well-being matters as much as physical health. At YMCA Madagascar, we believe that young people with good mental health face life’s challenges better, unlock their potential, and become changemakers in their communities. On Friday, June 13, 2025, YMCA Madagascar took a big step forward by signing a partnership with Omena Movement to deepen this commitment to youth.

Together, the two organizations will promote social-emotional intelligence and raise awareness about psychological violence. These issues receive too little attention, yet they deeply affect young people’s personal and social growth. The goal is to inform young people, prevent harm, and break the taboos surrounding these often invisible but damaging forms of violence.

This partnership will also offer training sessions on social-emotional learning. These sessions will strengthen participant’s emotional skills by giving them practical tools to better understand themselves, manage their emotions, and build healthier relationships.

This collaboration goes beyond a formal agreement. It represents a shared commitment to breaking the silence, creating safe spaces for open dialogue, and equipping young people with the tools they need to protect themselves and nurture positive connections.

Stay tuned for the first session with Omena Movement!
