Fanantenana Project

-- HOPE --

About Fanantenana

Amid Madagascar’s ongoing economic crisis, marked by an annual inflation rate of around 10%, vulnerable young women, particularly young mothers and single heads of households, face heightened risks of exploitation and socio-economic marginalization, often struggling to meet their children’s basic needs. That’s why the Fanantenana project, which means “hope,” was established. It embodies resilience, renewed confidence in the future, and the possibility of a fresh start after life’s setbacks. By providing access to vocational skills and initial economic support, the project empowers beneficiaries to generate sustainable income, reduce dependency, and improve their families’ well-being. Beyond economic empowerment, it contributes to breaking the cycle of intergenerational poverty by promoting nurturing and quality education for beneficiaries’ children.

The project Three Pillars

Enabling young single mothers to generate sustainable income through practical and market-oriented skills.

Strengthening the confidence, autonomy, and resilience of beneficiaries through thematic workshops on personal development and entrepreneurship.

Promoting social cohesion by creating a peer support network for single mothers and the facilitation of parenting workshops.
