For several months, FANDRESENA, the network of young single mothers supported under the Fanantenana project, has been receiving continuous support aimed at strengthening their autonomy and sustainably improving their living conditions.
Within this framework, they have participated in several capacity-building activities, including training sessions, practical workshops, awareness-raising sessions, as well as financial support. These initiatives are designed to promote their economic empowerment, help them develop income-generating activities, and enable them to provide a more stable and healthier environment for their children. In the long term, they contribute to gradually breaking the cycle of poverty.
As part of that, equipment endowment activity was organized this month in Antsirabe for the benefit of the project’s young single mothers. This activity marks an important step in strengthening their livelihoods and supporting the growth of their small-scale economic activities.
The beneficiaries received equipment tailored to their projects and needs, including:
- Sewing machines
- Catering equipment
- Livestock farming tools
- Business equipment and other materials tailored to their specific needs
These tools provide concrete support, enabling them either to start an income-generating activity or to strengthen an existing one in order to increase their income and progressively achieve financial independence.
Beyond the distribution of materials, the activity also strengthened motivation and confidence among participants. Discussions and encouragement emphasized key principles such as responsible use of the equipment, perseverance, commitment, and solidarity in their empowerment journey.
With these tools, the beneficiaries are now better equipped to produce, sell, and develop their activities on a more stable basis. This improvement in their economic capacity helps meet daily family needs while also reinforcing their dignity, independence, and ability to build a better future for their children.
