Young people, drivers of peace

Anjara, Brian, Natolotra and Tojo. 4  of our young people participated in the 2nd edition of the Y-Sweden’s digital course on video production and the UN resolution 2250 on Youth, Peace and Security.

This is the 2nd edition of the autumn’s digital course on video production, peace and sustainable development. The course  featured a broader focus on societal change and sustainable development besides peace and video production. The addition of the theme of the 2030 Agenda and the SDGs or Sustainable Development Goals were the novelties and innovations brought during this 2nd edition apart from  UN resolution 2250 on Youth, Peace and Security.

Aside from that, they learned various video editing techniques to transfer key messages to convey peace and the various actions carried out by the youth for development.

An expert in video editing taught them the basics of using the Adobe Premier Pro software with an expert like:

Our young people were happy to participate on this international program

‘’I am proud of being part of the program. Peace, security and sustainable development is not only a theory for me, I can make it happen. My sincere appreciation to YMCA MADAGASCAR and YWCA-YMCA of Sweden” said Tojo

These 4 young people will be from now on the ambassadors of peace of YMCA Madagascar in order to transfer the key messages to convey peace and the various actions carried out by the young people for the development. They will use film as a method of influence and spreading their message to others.

They will add the two youth who already benefited from this training last year.

Personnally, I learned about multiple challenges and problem youths go through in different countries during the grouping session I felt like « wow, is that really happening in your country? » So I got some relation with young people like me from abroad It was interesting and I got new skills in video editing” Brian

All the courses were held online via zoom where our participants could interact with other young people from South Africa, Ghana, Senegal, Sweden….
