On October 8, 2026, YMCA Madagascar and the National Youth Institute (INJ) officially signed a partnership agreement in Antananarivo. The signing took place in the presence of Mr. Tsikiniaina ANDRIHERINDRAINY, National General Secretary of YMCA Madagascar and Mr. Gaël ANDRIAMALAZAVOLA, Director of INJ. This agreement marks a new milestone in the collaboration between the two institutions, aimed at improving young people’s access to training, skills development, and opportunities for community engagement.
At the heart of this partnership is the establishment of a Youth Center within the INJ premises in Carion. Under this agreement, INJ will provide YMCA Madagascar with premises free of charge, while YMCA Madagascar will be responsible for their renovation, setup, and management. The facility will also serve as the headquarters of the YMCA’s local branch in Carion and provide a space for activities tailored to the needs of young people from surrounding communities.
Established for a five-year period, this partnership reflects a shared ambition: to empower young people, strengthen their independence, and equip them to take an active role in shaping their own future. Both institutions will work together to improve access to vocational training, promote entrepreneurship, strengthen leadership and life skills, and encourage civic participation and environmental protection.
Particular attention will be given to vulnerable young people, ensuring they have greater access to learning opportunities and personal development. Beyond training, this initiative aims to build their confidence, strengthen their ability to take initiative, and encourage their active involvement in community development.
We sincerely thank Mr. Gaël ANDRIAMALAZAVOLA, Director of INJ, and his entire team, for this support and commitment to our shared goal of creating more opportunities and a brighter future for young people.
