Driven by a strong desire to one day establish a YMCA center of his own, Théo, a young leader from YMCA France, made a special stop at YMCA Madagascar during his recent stay in the country for work and study. His passion for the YMCA movement and its values led him to visit the YPS Ankerana on Tuesday, June 3rd.
Théo previously served as a Volontaire de Solidarité Internationale (VSI) from 2019 to 2020 with YMCA Spain, where he spent a full year supporting youth development initiatives. While in Madagascar, he couldn’t miss the opportunity to connect with the local YMCA and explore how the organization empowers young people at the grassroots level.
During his visit, he met with the YMCA Madagascar staff, engaging in meaningful discussions about youth empowerment strategies, the challenges faced by young people today, and the importance of international collaboration within the YMCA movement.
We are grateful for Théo’s visit and for the enthusiasm he brought to our team. We wish him the very best in his future endeavors and look forward to seeing his vision for a new YMCA center come to life.
