About the STRONG Y
Strong Y is an organizational development and youth empowerment initiative that aims to build a stronger, more inclusive and sustainable YMCA Madagascar. It strengthens governance, institutional systems and staff capacities while promoting the leadership and participation of young people and women.
The project also reinforces Youth Power Spaces and local branches as places where young people can LEARN, LEAD, INNOVATE and contribute to their communities. Through capacity building, advocacy and strategic partnerships, Strong Y helps YMCA Madagascar increase its long-term social impact across the country.
The Project’s Three Pillars
Strengthening governance, internal systems, staff and leadership capacities, organisational learning, digital tools, and branch management so YMCA Madagascar can operate more effectively and sustainably.
Empower young people and women through targeted programmes such as youth justice, vocational training, climate action, economic empowerment, and community initiatives.
Strengthen youth- and women-led advocacy, build relationships with decision-makers, and create conditions for policies and programmes that better respond to young people’s needs and rights.
