From Subject to Citizen: Youth Leading the Change
Every year, YMCA Madagascar empowers young leaders through the S2C program, helping them grow from subjects to citizens. Our ambassadors are driving change and inspiring youth across the country.
About the S2C Program
The S2C (From Subject to Citizen) program is implemented by YMCA and designed to empower young people to become responsible, active leaders in their communities. It is held annually and gathers youth in each various YMCA branches across Madagascar for an intensive leadership training. The program focuses on strengthening their civic engagement, leadership skills, and ability to drive social change. At the end of the training, participants are officially recognized as S2C Ambassadors with a one-year mandate.
Throughout the year, these ambassadors apply what they’ve learned by organizing events, leading youth-led initiatives, and representing YMCA Madagascar both internally and on national or international platforms. They serve as role models for their peers and are committed to promoting values of responsibility, participation, and transformation.
